About 2degrees
2degrees launched in 2009 as New Zealand's third mobile network, breaking up the Telecom/Vodafone duopoly that had operated since the 1990s. The 022 range was 2degrees' primary allocation and remains its main mobile prefix — 0220 through 0229 is exclusively 2degrees originating territory.
In 2022, 2degrees merged with Vocus NZ to form a combined telecommunications group, and in 2024 was acquired by Macquarie Asset Management. The underlying mobile network and number ranges have been unaffected by the ownership changes.
Warehouse Mobile operates as an MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) on the 2degrees infrastructure — SMS to Warehouse Mobile numbers is delivered via the 2degrees route at the same per-message price. WebSMS automatically handles porting between 2degrees, Spark and One NZ via real-time IPMS checks.
