How do I switch SMS provider to WebSMS?
Create a free account, complete a quick verification when you first top up, import your contacts from a CSV file, then connect the way you send today – the web dashboard, email to SMS, our API or an integration. Send a few test messages and move your sending over when you are ready.
Can I bring my contacts from my current provider?
Yes. Export your contacts from your current provider as a CSV file and import it into WebSMS. The importer detects which column holds the phone numbers, and you can organise contacts into groups for bulk sends.
Are there monthly fees or contracts?
No. Bulk SMS is pay as you go with no monthly fees, no contracts and no minimum spend – you only pay for the messages you send. The only monthly charges are optional: renting your own dedicated shortcode or long code.
How much does SMS cost with WebSMS?
Standard SMS to New Zealand starts at 10c per message + GST and drops to 8.5c + GST at higher monthly volumes. If you send 100,000+ messages a month, contact us for custom pricing. All prices are in NZD – see the full pricing page.
Will my existing API integration work with WebSMS?
You will need to point your integration at the WebSMS REST API, as every provider's API is different. API access is included at no extra cost, and webhooks can send incoming replies and delivery reports to your own system. If you would rather not write code, email to SMS works from any email client and there are ready-made integrations.
Why do I need to verify my account before topping up?
To keep the network free of spam and fraud, new accounts verify a mobile number, complete an ID check and add a New Zealand or Australian card before their first top-up. If you do not have an NZ or Australian card, talk to us.
